Deborah and Mitchell Shipwash began Local Motion Productions in Houston, TX in 1992. For 27 years, Deb worked as a court reporter which involved legal video of depositions. She has also had extensive skating experience as an Ice Dance competitor with her husband, Mitchell, where together they became the 1999 National Adult Dance Champions and the 2002 National Adult Dance Silver Medalists. In addition to on-ice knowledge, Deb has trained 25 years in ballet, tap, jazz, acrobatics, character and twirling.

While it was quite natural for Deb and Mitchell to take up taping ice skating tests, shows and competitions, they still continue to train when they have time in hopes of one day competing again.

The versatility of the Shipwash family does not stop with ice skating.ﾠ Deb has been the Learn-to-Skate Director and a private lesson coach at the Colorado Sports Center in Monument, CO since 2006.

Deborah and Mitchell have two daughters. Melaina is now 29 years old and holds a Master of Science degree in sport nutrition. She is employed at St. Francis and Penrose Medical Center as a registered dietitian. She is married to James Bjorklund and they have an 8-month old son named Landon.

Brittany is now a 26 year-old graduate of Cheyenne Mountain High School. She is a nanny and is attending UCCS and Pikes Peak Community College in the dual enrollment program to obtain her R.N. degree. She wants to be a pediatric/NICU nurse upon graduation.

There is no question why Local Motion Productions has been such a success and continues to grow each year. They have filmed and photographed many ice shows and club competitions, as well as numerous national championships (Adult Nationals, Synchronized Team Championships, U.S. Figure Skating Championships, and National Showcase) over the years.
